Sarah
Murphy

Chair of LDS
Sarah is a qualified PE teacher who now works as an Active Schools Coordinator across all of the Special Schools in Edinburgh. She spent 4 years volunteering in the disability sport sector in New Zealand and since returning to Scotland is passionate about growing inclusive sporting opportunities for those living with a disability in Edinburgh and the Lothians.

Jack
Brodie

Vice Chair of LDS
A former LDS participant, Jack held the LDS coordinator post for a number of years before moving on to his current role as Club Development Manager at Scottish Squash. With first hand experience of the impact LDS can have, he is looking forward to supporting opportunities for people with disabilities to experience the benefits of sport and physical activity.

Jim
Anderson

Honorary Vice President
Jim is an ex Paralympic swimmer. He has been working with LDS for about 30 years. He now coaches swimming and plays boccia. He is the honorary vice president of LDS.

Ross
Evans

Treasurer
Ross is a final year student studying at the University of Edinburgh. He has been involved in the committee of his university team over the course of his studies, both as treasurer and other roles. Sports have always been an important part of his life and he is passionate about promoting the access and benefits of sports to all.

David
Gordon

Committee Member
David has worked in sport for over 20 years. He currently works at the University of Glasgow in the sport service helping students and staff get involved in activities at all levels. He would like to help people of all abilities take part in sport in a fun, rewarding and inclusive way.

Mattie
McLachlan

Committee Member
Mattie works as Lifelong Learning Development Officer for Sport and Physical Activity for Edinburgh Council. After previous roles in support work, Inclusion and advocacy work, he is passionate in supporting those with a disability through sport. His time is now mostly spent attending multiple sport classes with his 2 year old daughter and a LITTLE time for himself to play and watch sport.

Aidan
Haughey

Committee Member
Aidan currently works as an Active Schools Coordinator for the Leith Learning Community. One of his passions is breaking down barriers and creating sport opportunities that are accessible and fun so everyone can enjoy what sport can offer! He is proud to be on the LDS committee and excited for what future opportunities we can develop!

Helen
Kallow

SDS Representative
Helen has been involved in disability sport for 29 years, both as a volunteer and employee, including Riding for the Disabled. She is the East Region Manager for Scottish Disability sport and represents SDS on the committee. She works at strategic level with local authorities/other bodies highlighting disability inclusion and at club level supporting clubs to be more inclusive.
