Lothian Disability Sport (LDS) are reaping the rewards of the recent Community Partnership with BNY Mellon as the company's staff recently raised a remarkable £1141.35 through their 'Dress Down Friday' policy.
This policy allows staff to wear more informal clothing on a Friday each week, providing they donate a small amount of money in return. This money is then kindly donated to a charity of choice each month with LDS fortunate enough to be picked for the month of July. In addition to this highly significant amount, the company BNY Mellon also 50% match this amount - bringing the total figure raised to £1712.03! Thanks is extended to everyone and BNY Mellon for their efforts in raising such a fantastic amount, and especially LDS committee member Colin Buchanan who was the driving force behind this piece of work.
Such a significant amount of money can make a large difference within disability sport, through club development or coach education & training. However on this occasion, the Lothian Disability Sport committee have opted to use the money to support athletes to reach their sporting potential - providing financial support for athletes progressing through the performance pathway. Hopefully this money can help an athlete(s) reach their goals, whether that is National or International competition.
