Get Involved as a Coach

An image of us coachingLothian Disability Sport works in partnership with over 30 clubs across 15 sports in the Lothian Region and offer both, disability specific and inclusive opportunities - with some of the most experienced coaches in disability sport actively coaching in this region.  From Archery to Swimming or Basketball to Badminton, Lothian Disability Sport works in partnership and aims to support these coaches as they continually develop the skills of athletes to reach their potential.

Coaches have played a crucial role in athletes reaching their sporting potential, watching them graduate from local or grassroots clubs to further their skills at a Regional, National and International Stage - becoming successful, medal winning athletes.  Additionally, many coaches in disability sport also provide support to enhance social opportunities as well as sporting ones, allowing individuals access to participation and recreational sport.

If any of these roles interest you, whether an experienced coach or a coach who is just entering the world of sport - Lothian Disability Sport would love to hear from you to discuss these exciting opportunities further.  Additionally, coaching opportunities are not only restricted to sports currently advertised, we are always interested in introducing new sports and activities to our programme, providing a wider catchment of potential athletes.

If you are interested in coaching through Lothian Disability Sport, please get in touch on 07885 549 173 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Get Involved as a Volunteer

Lothian Disability Sport operates mainly as a volunteer led organisation, with the current committee comprising of volunteers from an array of backgrounds - more information on the LDS board structure can be found here.

Likewise, the coaching network across the region is made up of dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who give up their time to support our athletes reach their potential and these clubs are always keen to have new volunteers on board.

However, volunteer opportunities with LDS are far more varied and not restricted to committee members or coaches.  We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals to support the extensive calendar or events we offer, a club who wish to host an event, a driver who is keen to transport Lothian teams to National events - the list is endless and we would love to hear from you, so get in touch on 07885 549 173 or This email address is being protected from spambots.
